Lim To Promote Penang In South Korea Print

PENANG, Oct 28 (Bernama) -- Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng is leading a 52-member delegation on a five-day trade and investment promotion mission to South Korea beginning Tuesday.

The delegation will participate in the Asia Pacific Tourism Investment Conference and EXPO (Aptic) where the Penang Pavilion will be set up to showcase Penangs value propositions, a statement from the Chief Minister's office says.

The group includes Lim's wife, Betty Chew, Deputy Chief Minister 1 Mohammad Fairus Khairuddin, state executive councillor for tourism Danny Law, MPs Jeff Ooi and Liew Chin Tong, Penang Development Corporation's (PDC) general manager Datuk Rosli Jaafar and investPenangs executive committee chairman Datuk Lee Kah Choon.

The statement says says Penangs participation in Aptic is to promote the state as an ideal home for the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme to the Koreans.

Private companies in Penang which are participating in the Penang Pavilion include Eastern & Oriental Berhad, SP Setia Berhad, Hunza Properties Ber had, Ideal Property Intelligence Sdn Bhd and the Penang Health Association.

Lim is also scheduled to present a paper entitled "Sustainable Tourism Development in a Heritage Environment- the Penang Story" at the conference on Thursday and have an official meeting with Korean Deputy Minister of Tourism, Sports and Culture on Friday.
