A one-stop online portal on Malaysia’s No. 1 property website

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA, 21 April 2009 iProperty.com Malaysia (www.iproperty.com.my), Malaysia’s No.1 property website and part of the iProperty.com Group (www.iproperty.com), and iHome Management & Services SB (formerly known as 1 Solution Business Consultancy Sdn Bhd) have jointly launched a one-stop online portal for Malaysia My Second Home Programme (MM2H) in iProperty.com Malaysia (www.iproperty.com.my).

The MM2H portal (http://www.iproperty.com.my/MM2h/overview.aspx) is a comprehensive section of the iProperty.com Malaysia portal, dedicated to educating and assisting foreigners who are interested in the programme, as well as expatriates who would like to make Malaysia their second home.

The MM2H programme was set up by the Government as the “Silver Hair Programme” several years ago and has been further developed by the Ministry of Tourism.

It is one of the most attractive long stay programmes within the Asian region and compares very favourably with similar programmes around the world. Although it is not a permanent stay programme, the government has assured participants that the renewal of visas at the end of the period will be automatic as long as they adhere to the requirements of the programme.

Executive Chairman of iProperty.com Group, Patrick Grove says: “The MM2H portal on iProperty.com Malaysia will be a one-stop centre for expatriates. It will serve as a link between potential participants and the agents who will educate them about the programme as well as assist them in the application process. This is also an initiative for the iProperty.com Group to help promote Malaysian properties to the world.”

Users will find on the portal useful information such as details of MM2H agents, their services and background. The comprehensive portal will also contain extensive guides and useful information pertaining to MM2H and Malaysia, such as important information about Malaysia and aspects of the local lifestyle, terms and conditions of the MM2H programme, an application guide, FAQs, agent list and related useful links.

“The information on our portal will serve as an introduction to the programme for potential participants, providing them with a better idea of the lifestyle they can expect should they decide to live here. We are committed to providing value-added services to our consumers, especially retired foreigners who are considering making Malaysia their second home,” adds Grove.

iProperty.com Malaysia was recently ranked the No.1 property website in Malaysia by Google, with over 300% more unique visitors and 1750% more page views than its closest competitor. This makes it the best platform to reach consumers all around the world. Leveraging on the iProperty.com Malaysia platform and its extensive network of users, the portal is also aimed at promoting MM2H agents and their services. There are currently 275 licensed MM2H agents in Malaysia.

“We are ecstatic to be chosen as iProperty.com’s partner for this initiative, as it is the country’s leading property website with a powerful reach to a highly targeted local and global audience. This ensures that the content we provide will reach the right people, who are essentially serious property hunters,” says Leanny H’ng, Marketing Director of iHome Management & Services SB.

Based on requests and feedback from its large database of users, iProperty.com Malaysia decided to work with iHome, which will be its marketing partner, to create a comprehensive and relevant one-stop information portal for MM2H participants. It will also be a platform to promote the MM2H programme to an international audience.
