WE SHARE the concern of D. Wong as highlighted in “Issue ICs to MM2H residents,” (The Star, Feb 5). The Tourism Ministry recognises the need for MM2H participants to have an identity document to facilitate their movement within Malaysia. In this regard, an identification card has been issued by the department since March 2009. This service, however, has been suspended temporarily until a technical problem regarding the system is resolved. When the issuance of this identification card is resumed, we shall notify MM2H participants via our website at www.mm2h.gov.my We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your kind understanding in this matter. We welcome any further enquiries regarding the MM2H programme at the MM2H Centre at Level 23, Menara Dato Onn, Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), 45 Jalan Tun Ismail, 50695 Kuala Lumpur. Our MM2H officers can also be contacted at 03-2696 3365 (general enquiries) and 03-2696 3305 (for specific enquiries on Immigration matters) or e-mail at info@mm2h.gov.my.
