GEORGE TOWN: Police have detained three female clerks from a post office in Batu Ferringhi for alleged misappropriation of funds.

“So we informed Pos Malaysia Bhd and they conducted some investigations,” he said.

He said the national postal service found alleged misappropriation of funds and communicated it to the police via an internal report.

The women are expected to be remanded this afternoon.

On Wednesday, some 50 angry customers stormed the post office to seek ask why their utility remained unsettled even though they had made payments.

The group, who included Malaysia, My Second Home residents, had received warning letters from utility companies, some threatening to cut their water and electricity supplies, despite having made payments to the post office
